I knew the pattern I was going to find and was little amused about this thing.
In the Evening I came across a piece of news that theare going to be announced today on 7.7.7 at Lisbon in Portugal. I am Happy, The Taj Mahal is on the final list.
Today, music lovers will revel in Live Earth, a 24-hour, seven-continent concert series. More than 100 music artistes and two billion people will trigger a global movement to solve the climate crisis. John Mayer, Bon Jovi, Madonna, Red Hot Chili Peppers and others will perform to celebrate this special date of the millennium .
Little bit of Googling made me realize that Couples are climbing over themselves to get to the altar and tie the knot on this auspicious date 7/7/07. Richards a Wedding Organiser has even spurred them on with an irresistible special for Las Vegas junkies: a group wedding of seven pairs, at 7 pm, lasting seven minutes and costing $77 per couple. Read from Sunday Telegraph Australia: I myself attended a wedding of a friend of mine today.
More weddings will be held Saturday than on any day in recent history, experts say. Hotels are offering commemorative 777 packages, a pizza chain is giving away 777 pizzas, a state lottery is offering 7,777 prizes, and an insurance company is pitching a “wedding protector plan” — just in case the numbers aren’t so perfectly aligned.
Charlie Stochmal from Seymour turned 77 on 7/7/7. But he shrugged off the milestone despite its occurrence on July 7, 2007. In fact, he doesn’t even consider himself all that lucky.”I guess that’s the way things happen,” he said of the coincidence. “But I’m not superstitious.”The number seven is a recurring theme in Stochmal’s life. He has seven children, was among 17 born in his family and has been retired for more than 16 years — going on 17
As numbers go, seven is a big one. There are seven days in a week, seven notes on a musical scale, seven colors of the rainbow, seven wonders of the world and seven deadly sins. Catholics celebrate seven sacraments and seven virtues. Buddha was said to have walked seven steps at birth. And in Islamic tradition, seven symbolizes infinity.
What’s special about this date? Noted Indian astrologer Bejan Daruwalla says, “The first seven in the series (which refers to the date) means planet Neptune. It signifies intelligence, imagination and intuition. The second seven (which refers to the month of July) refers to Cancer, the zodiac sign by western astrology. Cancer is the sign of great mother. The last number refers to the year and that’s the modern part of it. Three sevens add up to 21, which is very powerful as per the tarot card.”
Even as people all over the world want their share of this much talked about date, numerologist Sanjay B Jumaani doesn’t attach much importance to it. He says, “Number seven represents Neptune which is co-related to Number 2 of Moon. People who are dominated by Moon and Neptune are restless, romantic, imaginative and moody. Seven is more of a mental number.” He adds, “People shouldn’t get carried away by this number seven hype.”
Of course, another lucky date is a little over a year away: 8/8/08 is considered especially auspicious in China, where the number eight is a homonym for “to make money.” The summer Olympics in Beijing will start at 8:08 p.m. on 8/8/08.
