WHAT IS VEDIC MATHS?
Vedic Mathematics is one of the fastest Mental Math techniques. It is a collection of techniques also known as ‘Sutras’ to solve maths in an easier and faster way. It consists of 16 Sutras and 13 Sub-Sutras which when mastered helps an individual to solve mathematical problems up to 10 times faster than usual. Indian mathematician Jagadguru Shri Bharathi Krishna Tirthaji is the Father of Vedic Mathematics. He learned the Rig-Vedas which later proved to be his inspiration behind Vedic Maths.
WHEN IS THE RIGHT AGE TO START LEARNING VEDIC MATHS?
This is an emerging question in the minds of most of the parents and students. Though there is no correct time to start learning anything new but the earlier you start the better you will be.
Do you know that kids tend to learn faster than adults? Studies have proved that kids are more creative than adults. This is due to the development of the prefrontal cortex of the brain, adults experience functional fixedness and that makes adults see everything exactly as it is.
I remember when I was 6 years old a teacher asked me the color of the sky and I said yellow. The teacher laughed out loud and corrected me by saying it is blue. As silly as this might sound but every day at sunset the sky does turn yellow!
The point being the younger you start learning your creative brain will allow you to absorb information and facts faster. For a parent, it will be a good option to make a child try different activities because it will help the child develop their abilities through creativity.
HOW WILL VEDIC MATHS HELP THE CHILD?
There is a theory that individuals are either left-brained or right-brained. That means one side of their brain is more active than the other. People with analytical skills are said to be left-brained and people with creative skills are right-brained. Vedic maths will not only help the child in building concentration but will also help develop both his creative and logical instincts. It will help him in the long run to achieve excellence at any job at hand. As a child grows up to be an adult this will help him in multitasking. For example, a coder at an IT firm will be good at both coding and client-handling; an artist will be able to create and also keep track of his own finances.
So, stop waiting and start learning Vedic Maths. The Sooner The Better!
